Allow me to state this for the record. I don’t like roller coasters. I never have.

It’s not the movement I mind, it’s the surprisingly unexpected and often startling drops, whipping around curves and (heaven forbid) upside down or corkscrew maneuvers. Of course, I say “surprisingly” because before you get on the damn thing, you know full well what you’re in for. In fact, if you’ve ridden the ride before, you even know when it happens. But somehow that never takes away from that sproing sensation that hits when the bottom drops out and your body plummets downward – leaving your stomach at the apex of that drop.
