When he graduated college in the spring of 2011, Andrew Forsthoefel felt restless. He had many ideas about what he wanted to do, the mark he wanted to make on the world. So he did what any self-respecting young man would do. In October 2011 he set foot out the door of his parents’ home in Chadds Ford, PA with the plan to walk across the US. Yes, the entire country. His objective on this route – to listen. He headed down the Eastern seaboard, across the south and my path crossed with his in August 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. We tucked into the blistering sunshine on the roof of The Ogden and talked about his experience, the stories he’s heard, the people he’s met and most of all some of the crucial lessons he’s learned.

UPDATE: In early September 2012, Andrew made it to the Bay Area! Sadly our schedules didn’t match up so we didn’t get to have the follow-up chat we’d intended, but we spoke briefly on the phone. He sounded relieved, joyful and a little more than introspective. Can’t wait to see what comes from all the content he gathered!
